This is a list of suggested secondary reading to complement the reading and discussion you will encounter on this module, however this list is not exclusive, critical texts which clearly come under particular authors (e.g. C.S.Lewis) have not been included in full. There are many other books and articles in the University Library which you may wish to consult, for example works on literary theory and historical contexts. Remember to use the search resources available to you for journals. The section dedicated explicitly to children's literature in The Hive runs from 809.89282-809.892827 but we hope you will / expect you to read outside of this. The University has subscribed to Children's Literature, Children's Literature Association Quarterly and The Lion and the Unicorn, journals which disseminate excellent academic scholarship and research on key issues in the field and will provide you with models of the application of theory and criticism to children's literature.
